IMPORTANT NOTICE - Coronavirus: Following the Governments recent announcement - ALL BASKETBALL is cancelled for the remainder of the season. Our biggest concern over this expected announcement was our financial exposure, given we have block bookings at Shenley, Hazeley and Bletchley all the way through to the end of June with ourCurrently, our WEEKLY exposure is around £1200 A WEEK, this equates to approximately £17000 through the end of the season - we really are victims of our own success with our season long court costs now exceeding £45,000! In anticipation of this (inevitable) announcement I met earlier this week with our partners at Shenley, Hazeley and Bletchley and as one, they appreciate our position and have all agreed that our liability will be to the end of March only - in line with the current monthly payments from the members. This is fantastic news and means that we do not have to worry about our continued existence!
Going forward, FROM APRIL, WE ARE ASKING ALL MEMBERS TO PAY A NOMINAL £5 A MONTH PAYMENT TO MAINTAIN YOUR MEMBERSHIP WITH THE CLUB. This will be for April, May and June only when the season is "officially " over - Alyson, our Treasurer will email payment requests as normal. This nominal amount will allow us to continue operating over the next 3 months as we plan for our biggest season ever! We are still awaiting March monthly training fee payments from around 40 members, over £1200 and would ask for these to be paid as soon as possible please as we still have other bills to pay in addition to our March court hire costs Unfortunately this means we have to cancel our plans for our EASTER CAMPS with immediate effect. If you have received an invoice, please disregard this. If you have already paid for places on the Camp, we will be in touch to ask for your bank account details to organise a refund. We intend to continue with our planning for next season on the basis of a September 1st start - and will share our plans with you on a regular basis to try and provide some positive news as we all navigate these challenging times Peter Taylor Chairman
